Navigating Life's Complexities: Psychoanalytic Therapy with Simina
Hello, and welcome. I’m Simina, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over a decade of training and experience.
We all carry a story. From our first relationships in childhood to the experiences that followed, each moment has shaped how we see the world, how we feel, and how we connect with others. These early bonds, often called attachment relationships, influence the way we navigate life as adults – from how we relate to partners, friends, and family to how we understand ourselves.
What makes my approach different is my deep curiosity about your story and who you are. I believe every person is a whole universe – unique, complex, and deserving of understanding in their own right. My work combines years of psychoanalytic training, relationship like therapy, a degree in psychology, and up-to-date insights from neuroscience, all woven into a warm, human approach.
I’ve worked with people from diverse backgrounds across the world and know that no two stories are the same. Here, you’ll find a compassionate and safe space where we can make sense of the patterns, emotions, and relationships that shape your life. Together, we’ll explore these deeper layers so you can move forward with greater clarity, freedom, and meaning.
Your story matters – and I’m here to help you honour it.
Services
Individual Psychotherapy
Investment in Long-Term Depth Work
Psychoanalytic therapy is a significant commitment: not just of time, but of emotional energy and resources. The work we do together is about more than symptom relief. It’s about understanding the patterns that shape your life, healing attachment wounds, and finding lasting change. Most of my clients work with me for several years, because real transformation takes time.
I’ve structured my fees to support this long-term journey while making depth psychotherapy accessible to those who are truly committed to the work.
Fees and What to Expect
Individual Psychotherapy (once weekly): £85 per 50-minute session
Intensive Psychotherapy (twice weekly):
£70 per 50-minute session
Deep Analytic Work (three to five times weekly):
£60–65 per 50-minute session
Single, One-Off Session: £120 (for those not engaging in ongoing work)
Initial Consultation: Free 30-minute call to explore if we’re the right fit
Why This Structure?
The reduced rate for more frequent sessions reflects my commitment to making intensive depth work sustainable. Clients who attend twice or more times per week are engaging in the kind of transformative work that requires both frequency and longevity, often spanning years, not months. This pricing structure honors that commitment.
What to Expect
Consistency is key. Sessions last fifty minutes and take place weekly (or more frequently) at the same time and day each week. This regularity creates the safety and stability needed for depth work.
Invoices are issued at the end of each month and are payable by your next session, by BACS. If you ever experience difficulty settling your bill, please speak with me. I want us to work through financial challenges together rather than avoid them.
Your time is reserved for you. Once we begin working together, your session time is held exclusively for you each week. You remain responsible for agreed session fees, except during bank holidays and my planned annual leave (of which I give advance notice).
Missed sessions are chargeable. Because your appointment is reserved specifically for you, the fee applies whether you attend or not. In genuine emergencies, I will do my best to reschedule within the same week where possible, though the original session fee still applies. This maintains the integrity and continuity of our work.
Initial appointments have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Once we begin ongoing work, the commitment shifts to reflect the depth of the therapeutic relationship.
Ending Therapy Thoughtfully
When the time comes to conclude our work, I usually ask for at least two weeks’ notice. Endings are an essential part of the therapeutic process, and allowing time for reflection helps bring our work to a thoughtful, meaningful close. If you have concerns about any of these terms, please feel free to discuss them with me.

1. Losing Yourself in Love: Understanding Codependency and Emotional Fusion
A 90-minute workshop exploring why we sometimes give too much, struggle with boundaries, or lose ourselves in relationships. Through gentle psycho-education, reflection, and guided somatic work, you’ll begin to recognise your own relational patterns and what it means to stay connected without disappearing.
Follow-on course: Boundaries and Belonging – six-week group work.
2. The Mother Wound: How Early Care Shapes Our Adult Relationships
This 2-hour workshop looks at how our early relationships with caregivers echo through adult life. We explore inherited messages about love and care, and how these shape self-criticism, guilt, or the need to please. The session blends analytic reflection with gentle grounding and self-soothing exercises.
Follow-on course: Healing The Mother Wound – eight-week psychoanalytic group process.
3. The In-Between Self: Finding Home When You Never Feel at Home
A 90-minute reflective workshop for those no who live between cultures or worlds and never feel fully rooted. We explore belonging, identity, and how dislocation lives in the body, using discussion, visualisation, and psycho-somatic awareness.
Follow-on course: The Home-Within Journey – six-week group on creating inner stability after displacement
Who I am and What I offer
I’m a UKCP-accredited psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over a decade of training and intensive personal analysis. I’ve worked in prisons, the NHS, GP surgeries, and Employee Assistance Programmes, and I now work exclusively online with clients around the world.
My approach combines psychoanalytic theory, attachment research, and up-to-date neuroscience with a deeply human, curious attention to your unique story. This isn’t quick-fix therapy, it’s the kind of work that stays with you for life.
Before I ever sat in the therapist’s chair, I spent a decade in my own analysis, often three or four times a week. That experience shaped me more than any book or lecture. It taught me that real change happens in a steady relationship where you can think with someone when you feel you can’t, and where hope can be held for you when it feels out of reach.
I began this work early in life. At fourteen, I volunteered in children’s homes in Romania and by sixteen, I was supporting young people on weekends. In London, I trained in forensic psychology and joined the Youth Offending Team while still at university. Later, I worked in both male and female UK prisons for eight years.
Alongside this, I’ve worked in the NHS, GP surgeries and Employee Assistance Programmes, supporting professionals under pressure, parents and students. Across these settings, one theme has stayed constant: a respect for complexity and the care it deserves.
That same spirit guides my private practice today: a place to think, reflect and find meaning, even when life feels uncertain.
Here are some of the areas I specialise in:
- Relationship issues
- Specialised in ADHD
- Loneliness and codependency
- PTSD, depression and anxiety
- Stress management
- Childhood trauma (especially developmental trauma)
- Attachment and separation difficulties
- Identity exploration, relationship dynamics, and interpersonal issues
- Employment and financial difficulties
- Pre- and Post-natal depression, challenges of new parenthood
- Fertility problems, coping with miscarriages
- Gender and sexuality concerns
- Grief and loss
- Anger management and emotional difficulties
- Migration and acculturation
- Marital problems and relationship struggles
- Personal growth and improving relationships
Therapy is also:
• A way to grow into your potential and become your best self.
• A path to self-awareness, to understanding why you live the way you do and how you might live differently.
• A confidential space where even professionals who hold other people’s secrets can finally have room to speak and be heard.
I offer long-term, confidential psychotherapy, to people ready to look beneath the surface, heal what holds them back, and grow into who they truly can become.
If this sounds like the kind of space you’ve been needing, I offer a free 30-minute consultation to explore if we’re the right fit.
